What to Expect
During the Assessment?
Developmental
history: We start with a detailed discussion
with parents or guardians to gather background information, detailed
information regarding the child’s development across social, emotional, motor
and behavioral domains.
Observation: Often an observation is conducted at the child’s learning center
(i.e., childcare or school) in order to gain a non-biased evaluation and
observe them in a broader space
Assessment: The main assessment that is required for the diagnosis is the
Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS). This is a standardized
assessment which include questioning, social interaction, communication, behavior
and observation.
Feedback
Session: After the assessment, we provide a
comprehensive report and discuss the findings with parents or guardians,
offering guidance on next steps and resources.
