What
is Sciatica?
Sciatica is the term for a pain condition that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the longest and largest nerve in the body – it travels from your lower back through to your hip and buttock and down your leg where it divides into two branches at the knee. Each leg has its own sciatic nerve.
What
are the typical Sciatica pain condition symptoms ?
The pain from sciatica is felt along the sciatic
nerve and can be felt deep in the buttock, with pain that travels down the back
of the leg, sometimes to the foot. The pain can be accompanied by tingling,
‘pins and needles’, or numbness and muscular weakness in the leg. Sciatica is
usually felt in only one leg at a time. Sciatica Pain can range from a mild
ache to in-measurable pain. Sciatica pain is often felt when you sneeze, cough,
go to the toilet, or when you’re sitting, and is often accompanied with lower
back pain.
IMPORTANT: If
you are experiencing any form of lower extremity weakness, bladder or bowel
dysfunction related to lower back pain you should seek urgent medical attention
to evaluate your condition, so you can receive appropriate early treatment.
Your Spine is under constant gravity and movement
pressure, your lifestyle, work activities, balance, sporting activities, home
duties, shopping, carrying, lifting, running, walking, constant ground impact,
basically all activities that require walking can cause a Pain condition.
Generally, when pain is felt in your body it is caused by muscle strain, joint
strain, joint inflammation/ligament trauma, poor blood circulation an injury or
over-use. The good news is many Body Pain conditions are treatable without
surgery or drug use.

restore movement, include manipulation, mobilization, massage and exercises to
strengthen your feet and ankle muscles and ligaments.
